Fresh off of Smart Commute Week, Traverse City’s Downtown Development Authority is teaming up with BATA and the Michigan Land Use Institute to offer 50 downtown employees with free, six-month BATA passes.
If you work downtown and are interested, let them know at this online form: Downtown Direct
The program is designed to help minimize the parking crunch downtown while promoting transportation choices. The conditions to receive the pass are simply that you agree to help evaluate BATA’s service to downtown and that you use BATA pass at least three times every two weeks.
To be considered, you’ll be asked to provide your email, phone, employer, and if you currently use BATA…sign up and Get on the Bus!
BATA Extra…More Bike-n-Ride
Another announcement from BATA is the expansion the Bike-n-Ride program. The program last year provided extra room for up to 12 bikes between Traverse City and Suttons Bay. It allowed people to ride the complete Leelanau TART Trail without having to pedal both ways (or, 34 miles). That service is back, and this year BATA has added a service connecting people and their bikes to the Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail that runs between Empire and Glen Arbor.
Are you riding BATA? Where to?
